Remove Swift Media Converter Virus | Updated

I wrote this article to help you remove Swift Media Converter. This Swift Media Converter removal guide works for all Windows versions.

Swift Media Converter is another untrusted PUP which is capable of entering your virtual machine without your permission. This is the main reason why the program is considered as an adware application which is compatible with the major web browsers – Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. Swift Media Converter promises users to help them converting files from different formats to other ones that they might need. However, it turns out that Swift Media Converter works in a rather different way.

As soon as Swift Media Converter gets installed on the system, the browser extension starts displaying advertising banners, pop-up advertisements and in-text ads, brought to you by “Swift Media Converter”. The Swift Media Converter Ads will have different text under the pop-up: “Powered by Swift Media Converter”, “Brought to you by Swift Media Converter”, “You’ve received a premium offer from Swift Media Converter” or “Ads by Swift Media Converter”. Unfortunately, all these ads may slow down your virtual machine, cause frequent system crushes, and threaten your personal security. To avoid these problems, you should remove Swift Media Converter from your PC right away.

Actually, Swift Media Converter does not need any approval to enter your computer. This program is so smart that it could make you install it yourself without even realizing it. Usually, Swift Media Converter enters your PC bundled with other freeware, because it provides possibly the easiest entry point for it. For that reason, every time when you install new software on your virtual machine, you should read all the terms and conditions provided by the setup wizard. In another case, you will experience security-related issues.

Swift Media Converter can also infiltrate your computer by posing as a bogus system or program update. For instance, while you’re thinking that you’re updating a particular program on your PC, you’re actually letting a dangerous infection in the system. Besides, the adware can also use spam email attachments, corrupted links, or websites as other means of invasion. Thus, having a program like Swift Media Converter on your PC most often depends on your attention.

Once installed on your computer, Swift Media Converter starts flooding your monitor with numerous commercial advertisements. The so-called “Ads by Swift Media Converter” ads will be shown as boxes which contain multiple coupons which are available, as underlined keywords, pop-up adverts or advertising banners. The problem here is that the only purpose of all these pop-ups is to promote the installation of questionable content on your PC, including web browser toolbars, optimization utilities and other products, so that the publisher of Swift Media Converter can generate pay-per-click revenue.

However, the provided adverts are not the thing you should worry about most. In fact, the greatest issue related to Swift Media Converter is the ability of the program to access your personal data. As soon as the hijacker infects your PC, it starts monitoring your virtual activities and records your browsing history. Once the program has collected enough information about your preferences, Swift Media Converter shares the data with the third parties hidden behind it and they could use it for malicious purposes. This is the reason why you should remove Swift Media Converter right away and make sure that your computer is well-protected against any viruses.
