Have you noticed something strange every time you open your browser? The replacement of your homepage, new tab pages and even your preferred search engine with the Weknow.we website, is a sign that a nasty browser hijacker now resides on your device.

Once the parasite calls your browser its ‘home’, it will start to flood your screen with numerous intrusive ads. But behind those seemingly trustworthy promotions might hide dangerous threats. After all, hijackers are programmed to display as many ads as possible, in order to raise the chance of creating a pay-per-click revenue. It is not their job to verify those adverts. That’s why we highly recommend not to click on the sponsored content, provided by the parasite.

The Weknow.we website appears due to a browser hijacker infection that has taken over your browser. The parasite can infiltrate only with your permission. It does so, by using tricks and relying on your carelessness and naivety. The most common means of browser hijacker distribution include but are not limited to spam emails, software bundles, fake updates and dubious links.

Often, users unknowingly install malicious software on their computer, by making the mistake of opting for a Quick install. By doing so, any hidden parasites that have been bundled with other programs will get automatically installed on your device, without your knowledge. To make sure this does not happen, you need to select Custom or Advanced mode in the Setup Wizard. This way, any additional software will be visible to you, and all you have to do is deselect such bonus content, so it does not get access to your computer.

If left unattended, browser hijackers can seriously damage your web browsers and also compromise your personal and financial information. Adverts may seem harmless to you, but because of the parasite’s heavy ad attacks on the browser, soon the app will fail to work properly. Things like lagging and slow internet speed will become serious obstacles that will try to stop you from doing any work online. On top of all that, hijackers also have the ability to install other suspicious software on your browsers like toolbars, add-ons or extensions.

To put it simply, you’ll gain no positives by keeping this malicious software on your PC. This hijacker will bring you only troubles. The longer you allow it to stay on your computer, the worse your situation will become. That’s why it is important to remove the parasite, as soon as you notice its presence, to prevent it from doing any more damages. The only way to regain control over your web browser and return to a secure online presence once more is to act against this annoying browser hijacker in a timely manner.
